EMBRACE YOUR BELOVED ONES, RECOGNIZE YOUR EGO AND SURRENDER TO LOVE.
Love is the greatest mystery of all times and simplest of them all. Love is too simple and still complex. The emotion of love flows like wind sweeping you off your feet but can be complicated and intense like a hurricane. If one could unravel the mystery of love as an emotion, they would find the simplest form of joy for you. It will help you grow and empower you to achieve the utmost happiness.
According to Osho’s many tales of wisdom on life, love and happiness, one must have no sense of ego to love completely. Love demands complete surrender. Someone, who cares more about social status or profit and loss, cannot love completely. Such people always experience love in parts. Therefore, if you want to experience the utmost joy of intense love, you should keep your ego aside and indulge dedicatedly in pure, simple Love.
The feeling of love can be seen in various forms. The love between a mother and her child, husband and wife, among siblings and family/ friends is something very natural.
But there is this beautiful story by Osho, about unusual and most beautiful bond of love between a tree and a kid, sheds light on the wisdom and wideness of Love as an emotion:
The story goes like this:
Once upon a time, there was a giant ancient tree, which was known for its wide branches, beautiful flowers and tasty fruits. It was habitat to many birds, butterflies, earthworms and other small and big creatures. There was a little boy, who used to sit under the tree and play there, everyday. Since the tree had no ego and no sense of greatness, despite of its huge size and beauty, it developed affection for that kid.
Every time the boy would come, the tree would lower its branches so that he could climb up on them, pluck the flowers, eat the delicious fruits and spend time with the tree. They both were very happy. The boy enjoyed spending time with the tree and the tree rejoiced whenever the boy was around. Days went by and times changed. The boy grew up to be surrounded by day-to-day worries.
He had studies to take care of, had to do daily chores and had many other distractions. So, he started spending less time with the tree. The tree became sad and waited for the kid to come.
Whenever the kid came, the tree asked him for the reason of not spending more time under it. The boy was too busy to feel love and hence he started explaining how difficult his life had become. He was supposed to work, earn money, rather than just spending time under some stupid tree. The tree was worried and offered the boy to sell its fruits. The boy agreed. The tree shook its branches and all the fruit fell off. However, the tree’s branches were hurting but they were happy to help their dear friend.
The boy took away to fruit, sold it and earned money. But, he became busy earning more money and returned to the tree, only when he needed fruits. Despite this, the tree would wait for him to come, patiently. One day the boy came and asked the tree to give its wood so that he could build home. The tree said yes, happily. The boy went back with the wood and didn’t return for a long time. There was only the trunk left but it waited for the beloved friend. One day, the boy returned with an axe and said he needed its trunk as he wanted to make a boat for his travel beyond the sea. The tree agreed happily. The boy cut the trunk and sailed away, to never return. The tree is just a stump now, but it still waits for its dear friend to return because it loved the boy completely and unconditionally.
The story is a true testimony to the power of true love which always understands and gives unconditionally, whereas ego feeds your everlasting desire to earn power. Therefore, embrace your beloved, recognize ego and surrender to love.
